Saracens' Taylor features for Scotland

Duncan Taylor has been named in Scotland’s team to face Australia at Sydney’s Allianz Stadium on Saturday. Having featured at wing, centre and full back at club level, he makes the move from 15, where he played in Scotland’s win over Italy in Singapore, to inside-centre for the clash against the Wallabies.

With a new head coach in the form of ex-Glasgow Warriors Gregor Townsend, the Scots will play their first test on Australian soil in 5 years, and are looking to repeat last week’s Singaporean success, where they defeated Italy 34-13.

Following a brief blood substitution for fly-half Finn Russell, Saracens’ Duncan Taylor was able to show off his prowess from the kicking tee, slotting a conversion after Tim Visser went over just before half time.

Capped 19 times for his country, Taylor will be part of a Scottish side aiming to replicate the win that the men in blue enjoyed on their last visit to Australia, when they won 9-6 in inclement conditions. And of course, recent clashes between the two sides have been extremely close fought affairs, with their Rugby World Cup Quarter Final and November’s game at BT Murrayfield coming down to just a single point.

Saturday's kick off is at 06H00, and all eyes will be on Sydney.
