VVA-Saracens Moscow region win first stage Russian 7s Championship


 "VVA-Saracens Moscow region" have been crowned winners of the first stage of the Rugby 7s Russian Championship.

The first stage of the Championships, hosted in Alushta, saw ten teams fighting for the title through two pools.

Following the group stages and the semi finals it was VVA Saracens and Krasnodar Kuban who contested the final.

A try from Herman Davydov gave VVA Saracens an early 5-0 lead but Krasnodar equalised mid way through the half.

Shortly before the end of the first half, Alexander Yanyushkin crossed over the tryline for Saracens to make the half time score 10-5 to the Moscow side.

At the beginning of the second half, tries from Herman Davydov and Vladislav Sozonov, backed up by the conversation of Alexander Yanushkin, gave "VVA-Saracens" a strong 22-5 lead. Kuban added ten points of their own but were unable to affect the result of the match. 22:15 the final score as "VVA-Saracens Moscow region" became the winners of the first stage of the Championship.
