Saracens Mavericks are delighted to announce that Becky Trippick has been confirmed as assistant coach, ahead of the 2023 Vitality Superleague season.

One of the key values at Saracens is ‘building from within.’ Trippick’s appointment continues that tradition, having served as the Mavericks U15s coach since 2020, having previously been assistant coach for the same group.

Trippick’s appointment adds further experience alongside Head Coach Camilla Buchanan, having previously represented England at age group and open level. During her playing career, she played for Brunel Hurricanes, before staying with the side as they relocated to the University of Surrey and became Surrey Storm. Buchanan is enthused by the know-how that Trippick will bring to the role and is excited to see what she can add to the group.

“Becky has a wealth of knowledge for our game, as well as having a great way with people that I believe will be a brilliant fit for this squad.”

A vastly experienced player, Trippick captained Storm for several seasons, appearing in three Superleague Grand Finals, before retiring from playing in 2014.

She has been part of the Mavericks team since 2017, having initially worked with the Futures and Pathway programmes.

Trippick has continued to impart her knowledge to the next generation since retiring, having set up her own coaching partnership programme. She runs Next Generation Netball, with fellow former Superleague player Gemma Consentino. Consentino played alongside Becky at Storm and previously represented Mavericks in the Superleague.

Buchanan played with and against Trippick for a number of years and the Head Coach couldn’t contain her excitement when describing what Trippick will bring to the role as assistant coach.

“Having played alongside Becky for years as an opponent & a teammate, I know how much of a great competitor she is and that feeds through in her coaching. I’m so excited to work with Becky in this new building phase with Mavs.”
