Aled Davies believes the Saracens squad are ready to hit the ground running as they start the next block of Premiership matches with a huge fixture against Leicester Tigers tomorrow afternoon.

The league leaders head to StoneX Stadium for a battle of the top two, and Davies, who is back in the squad after five weeks out can’t wait to take on the Tigers.

The starting line-up, which has a settled look to it is captained by Mako Vunipola, who is joined by Tom Woolstencroft and February Lucozade Player of the Month Vincent Koch in the front-row.

Callum Hunter-Hill and Tim Swinson are reunited in the second-row, with newly capped Scotland international Andy Christie joining Jackson Wray and Billy Vunipola at the base of the scrum.

Davies returns in the number nine shirt, and Alex Goode moves in to fly-half to partner the Welsh scrum-half.

Nick Tompkins returns from his try-scoring display against England at Twickenham to start at inside centre, alongside the top point scorer in the Premiership, Alex Lozowski in the midfield.

Alex Lewington starts on the left wing, with Sean Maitland on the right and Elliot Daly at full-back who is also back from international duty.

There is a big boost on the bench as Duncan Taylor has recovered from injury to take his place amongst the replacements, and there is plenty of pace to be injected in to the back-line in the form of Ruben de Haas and Rotimi Segun.

Davies, who is back from a calf injury knows that Sarries face a big test on Saturday afternoon.

“Leicester are a top side so we know we’ll need to be at our best to come out on top.

We’ve had a bye week to recharge and we’ve come back in ready to hit the ground running in the next few weeks.”
