Hugh Tizard signs for Saracens
Saracens is excited to announce the signing of Hugh Tizard from Harlequins for the 2022/23 season.
The second-rower burst on to the scene in recent years at the Twickenham Stoop, and has made 27 appearances for the West Londoners despite being just 21 years of age.
Standing at 6ft 5” and weighing 120kg he will add considerable size to the pack which already includes the likes of Maro Itoje, Nick Isiekwe, Tim Swinson and Callum Hunter-Hill in his position.
Since arriving at Harlequins in 2016, he also has four caps for England Under 20s and will be looking to make his senior debut in the years to come.
Tizard is looking forward to making the move to StoneX Stadium.
“I’m massively excited to make the move to Saracens at the end of the season. Although it was an incredibly hard decision, I feel that it is the right decision for my rugby.
I want to challenge myself and grow as a player and I feel Saracens will be the perfect place to do that.
I’m looking forward to working with Mark McCall and the rest of the coaches and joining up with the squad next season.”
Director of Rugby Mark McCall is thrilled to be welcoming Tizard to the club.
“We are delighted to be welcoming Hugh to Saracens. He has significant experience considering he is just 21 years old and we were impressed by his obvious hunger and determination to take his game to the next level.
Hugh will compliment the other locks we have at the club very well and we are confident he can realise his huge potential in the years to come.”
