Sam Wainwright returns to Wales
Saracens can today reveal that Sam Wainwright has left the club with immediate effect to join the Scarlets.
The prop, who made his debut for Wales in the summer has returned to his home country with the view to gaining more game time.
The 24-year-old made 20 appearances for Sarries after making his debut in 2019 and has grown through the senior academy in to a full international.
Wainwright had these words for everyone at StoneX Stadium.
“I’d like to thank Saracens for the opportunity they have given me and for all the time and effort that everyone has put into me.
I will leave the club a better rugby player but most importantly a better person.
Everyone has been amazing with me and both myself and my family all feel every grateful and fortunate to of been part of such an amazing club filled with great players, people and supporters.
The club will always hold a special place for everything it has given and done for me, and I will always be grateful for this.”
Director of Rugby Mark McCall wishes Wainwright all the best for his move to the Scarlets.

He is a great person who will be missed at the club but we understand the reasons for the move and hope he has every success in the future.”
