Georgia Lees Announcement

Saracens Mavericks are pleased to announce the return of Georgia Lees, as a Wasps Additional Training Partner for the 2023 season.

Lees re-joins Mavericks following the news that Wasps Netball will no longer be competing in the 2023 Netball Super League and has already begun training with her new side.

Speaking about how the chance to train with Mavericks came about, Lees admitted that she was thrilled to have the opportunity to continue to train in a familiar environment.

“I’m so grateful to Mavericks for reaching out and offering me a training partner contract for the season. I was devastated to find out that Wasps Netball had folded and felt lost as to what came next. So, to have Mavericks reach out to me to offer reassurance and somewhere to train is something I will always be grateful for.”

Returning to a familiar environment, Lees admitted that it had been nice to be in and around some friendly faces, as the squad continues to prepare for the 2023 Netball Super League season.

“It’s been great being back in the mix and seeing some old faces. It’s been nice to build some new relationships with those new faces within the squad as well. The team is looking great and I’m really enjoying the training environment,” she explained. “This season will look slightly different for me, but I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and supporting the squad as much as I can with the goal of reaching the top four this season.”

Mavericks are also pleased to confirm that Darcy Griffin has joined the club as a training associate.

Everyone at Saracens Mavericks is thrilled to welcome Georgia back into the fold ahead of the new season and are looking forward to helping her and Darcy move forward on and off the court.
