Saracens Women prop Hannah Botterman has been named as one of the Guardian’s sports prospects for 2019.

The 19-year-old was one of five sportswomen selected as ones to watch next year, after impressing for England in the recent autumn internationals.

She made her Sarries debut last season but helped the team to the inaugural Tyrrells Premier 15s title, scoring the winning try against Harlequins Ladies in the final.

That form earned her England selection for the series against Canada, during which she won her first cap, and she has continued to progress this season for club and country.

Botterman is from strong rugby stock. Her uncle, Gregg, made nearly 200 appearances for Saracens between 1988 and 2000 and her aunt, Jane Everett, represented the Red Roses.

The Hertforshire player was named alongside footballer Georgia Stanway, Australian cricketer Sophie Molineux, American hurdler Sydney McLaughlin and Japanese tennis player Naomi Osaka.
