Saracens Women Squad Photo Call

Saracens Women are delighted to announce the signing of Jodie Mallard ahead of the 2019/20 Tyrrells Premier 15s season.

The England Under-20 scrum-half joins Saracens from Loughborough Lightning, where she spent one-and-a-half seasons, and having started two matches for England U20 against USA and Canada over the summer.

"I’m really excited to get started at Saracens."

Mallard started playing rugby aged five at Wellingborough RFC and came through every age group from mini juniors to the senior team.

As well as her U20 honours, she has also represented East Midlands, the Midlands and the England/GB Under-18s 7s team.

Mallard said: “I would like to thank Loughborough for all their support and for the role they’ve played in developing me as a player. I’m not sure where I’d be if I didn’t have their support.

“However, I’m really excited to get started at Saracens. There are a lot of quality players throughout the squad and I’m looking forward to working closely with the coaches to continue developing as a player.

“It’s a really great setup here and I can’t wait to run out in Sarries colours for the first time.”

Saracens Women Head Coach Alex Austerberry said: “Many elements of Jodie’s game really match up well with what we are looking to do as a club. Feisty, combative, hard-working and talented, she has the personal attributes that we look for in a player.

“She’s a current England U20 international and we are excited to work with and develop Jodie into the player she has the potential to be.”

It won't be long before Jodie Mallard puts on the new 19/20 Saracens kits for the first time. Click here to buy yours now!
