Bridgersigns

Saracens are delighted to confirm the signing of centre Sophie Bridger, ahead of the 2023/24 season.

One of the hottest prospects in the game, Bridger has enjoyed a meteoric rise since captaining Hartpury University to BUCS Gold in 2022. This season, she broke through into the title-winning Gloucester-Hartpury side, scoring 14 tries in all competitions, as well as appearing off the bench in the final at Kingsholm.

Bridger's talent has already been on show to Saracens fans over the last twelve months, after she put in two starring performances against the side last season.

A precocious talent, with an eye for the try line and the ability to play in multiple positions, Bridger's arrival at StoneX is a huge coup for Director of Rugby Alex Austerberry, as he has secured the services of one of the standout young players in the game.

"Sophie is a very exciting player who has all the attributes to become one of the most complete attacking threats in the game. For a very long time we have admired Sophie from afar and we have been put to the sword by her ability to challenge and unlock defences. She has great feet and the ability to beat players with her pace. Sophie genuinely is a triple threat with the skillset to unlock defences with her hands and feet. Sophie is a very cerebral player and has a real desire to maximise her undoubted potential. Having really established herself over the last couple of seasons, Sophie has a great platform to really kick on from. Sophie is certainly a rising star of the game and I am very excited to witness her continued development here at Saracens."

Bridger too, is thrilled to be taking the next step in her rugby journey in North London.

"I'm really excited to be starting a new chapter in my rugby career at Saracens. I can't wait to get amongst it and learn from some of the best."
