Saracens is thrilled to announce that Theo McFarland has signed a new long-term deal, committing his future to the club.

The Samoan, who was nothing short of a revelation in his opening season took the Gallagher Premiership by storm and became a crucial part of the match day squad, making 26 appearances in his debut campaign.

The former basketballer, who can play in either the second-row or back-row showed all of his athletic ability consistently last season, and his memorable try against Northampton Saints which won the Try of the Season award cemented his place as a firm fan favourite in North London.

His partnership with the likes of Ben Earl and Billy Vunipola in the back-row became one of the most settled in the Premiership, and fans will be hoping that it continues to flourish over the coming years.

McFarland is pleased to be remaining at StoneX Stadium for the foreseeable future.

“I’m excited to be extending my time at the club. It's the perfect place for me to learn and improve my game. I'm really enjoying my time here and I feel we have the makings of a great side so I want to play a part in it over the next few years.”

Director of Rugby Mark McCall is delighted that McFarland has committed to the club.

“Theo has fitted into the group well in his first season and we are thrilled that he will be with us for the long-term.

He is very open to how he can improve and works hard at his game., We are confident we can help him realise his potential in the years ahead.”
