Show

It’s going to be Premiership Rugby, but not as we’ve ever seen it before next weekend when Saracens host “The Showdown 2 in Association with City Index” against Bristol Bears at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The ‘Men in Black’ have played at the new Wembley, Twickenham, The Olympic Stadium, Murrayfield, Stade de Lyon, Principality Stadium, St James’ Park and the Aviva Stadium in the past, but this will be a first for the club.

What a game it promises to be against one of the most attack-minded teams in the top-flight of English club rugby. The Bears might not be fighting for a play-off place this season, but with players of the quality of Harry Randall, Calum Sheedy, Semi Radradra and the Piutau brothers in their back line, anything could happen.

It is a game not to be missed and one that will have special meaning for Ben Earl and Max Malins. They both spent a season on loan at Bristol and helped them to reach last season’s play-off semi-finals.

The 60,000 capacity Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is one of the newest and most exciting venues in Europe. It promises to be an amazing occasion for anyone interested in top level professional sport. Coming the week after the end of the Six Nations, it means Mark McCall and his coaches should have a full complement of players to choose from as he attempts to keep the club on course for a play-off semi-final after a season away from the Premiership.

Three days later the team will be back in action in the Premiership Cup when the players head to Wasps for their cross-pool fixture.

The next assignment for the Women’s team will be a Premier15s Cup clash with Exeter Chiefs at StoneX on Saturday, 2 April.
