Sarries fans Camilla and Spencer help shine a light on Mental Health with incredible challenge
For Mental Health Awareness Week, we wanted to shine a light on the amazing work being done by two huge Sarries fans!
Camilla, aged 7 and Spencer, aged 10, have chosen to run 288 miles in 288 days throughout the rugby season. They are raising money and awareness for mental health charity Looseheadz. Â
Their challenge started on the 10th September, which was the opening day of the Gallagher Premiership and they will finish on June 24th, to coincide with the Allianz Premier15s final.
Camilla and Spencer are massive rugby fans. They support Saracens and play for their local club Dartford Valley Rugby Club. Â
Yesterday, they hit a huge milestone by going past mile 250. This was also the day of their grandfathers funeral. They have run in the rain, snow, on birthdays, Christmas day and even when they have been sick. Â
During their challenge, they have been lucky enough to run on the pitch at StoneX, Twickenham Stoop and at Wasps RFC. Â
They have been lucky to have been joined by Jodie Rettie, Grace Moore, Flo Williams and Sydney Gregson from Sarries and Kimmii Colvin, Meghan Gardner and Linzi Taylor from DMP Sharks on their runs.
They already have their tickets booked for the Premier15s final in Gloucester, in hope they get the finish their 288 mile challenge with Saracens lifting the trophy!
Their parents provide daily updates on their Instagram challenge page @maileyruns. They also have a Just Giving page which you can find by clicking here.
All of us at Saracens are incredibly proud of both Camilla and Spencer and can't wait to continue supporting them through the final miles of their incredible challenge.
