Locked In | Beth Blacklock Joins Saracens
Saracens are delighted to announce the arrival of talented Scotland international Beth Blacklock, ahead of the 2023/24 season.
Blacklock joins from London rivals Harlequins, having previously had a stint at DMP Durham Sharks, where she combined her university studies with her playing career.
Comfortable at centre or fly half, the 25-year-old made her Scotland debut in the 2023 TikTok Six Nations and has since gone on to win 3 caps for her country.
An assured playmaker, with the ability to kick long-range goals, Blacklock is relishing the chance to link up with her new teammates.
"I am really excited to join Saracens. From watching and playing against the side, they’ve got a really adventurous and licensed attack and their defence is ruthless. I’m really excited to become a part of that and to grow with the club and such a quality group of players."
Director of Rugby Alex Austerberry is also pleased to have secured the services of a player with plenty of league pedigree.
"Beth is a player we have watched and admired for some time, and it is great to bring her to Saracens. Beth is a quality ball playing midfielder with the ability to play to unlock defences in a multitude of ways. She has a very well-rounded kicking game, which compliments her all-around attacking game, with the versatility to play at first receiver and slightly wider. She's a very experienced player both domestically and now on the international stage with Scotland. Beth will add experience and quality to the group, and I very much look forward to her game really flourishing here at Saracens."
