Saracens superfan Lesley has been supporting her team from the stands alongside her husband since 1998, but never did she expect to be given the chance to name one of them!

For the first major Saracens campaign on Socios.com, the club ran a poll asking fans what they would like to name the West Stand.

Lesley submitted the ‘1876 Stand’ as her choice, before it was included in the final four options polled on the app.

Lucky Lesley’s choice emerged victorious and to commemorate her role she was  invited to the stadium for the official unveiling. An eventful afternoon followed as Lesley revealed a shiny new plaque for the 1876 Stand in the main reception alongside ex-Sarries star Chris Wyles and current star Max Malins and enjoyed a full behind the scenes experience.

Lesley was also able to meet another former Sarries star in Alistair Hargreaves, savour a hearty meal in hospitality and enjoy prime seats for the Premiership Rugby Cup clash with Leicester Tigers.

The result failed to dampen Lesley’s spirits, who smiled after an unforgettable afternoon, explaining why she chose 1876 and recounting her experience:

“The club was founded in 1876 and that’s never going to change. It harks back to our origins in Southgate.

“My husband and I started watching the club in 1997, and we’ve had season tickets since 1998, so we were both thrilled to have the opportunity and very grateful.

“It’s been very good, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed it and we’ve been really well looked after.”
