Saracens Men and Mavericks were both in action on Saturday as they looked to continue their good form.

Saracens Men

It was a thriller at StoneX Stadium on Saturday but ultimately Northampton Saints left with the points as they edged out a 46-35 win in the Premiership Rugby Cup.

Rotimi Según scored two brilliant tries for the hosts as they looked to get their cup campaign back on track, but eventually it was the Saints who got the win.

Kapeli Pifeleti, Brandon Jackson and Ethan Lewis also crossed for the Men in Black, but they now turn their focus towards The Showdown 2 in Association with City Index which takes place on Saturday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Saracens Women

There was no match for the Women at the weekend who are in the middle of a break ahead of the TikTok Six Nations which gets underway on Saturday. Saracens are likely to have a number of representatives and we will update on our social media channels later this week once the teams are confirmed.

Saracens Mavericks

The Mavericks suffered another narrow loss as they went down to Leeds Rhinos 53-51 at the University of Hertfordshire.

An electric final quarter brought the game level but it was Tracey Robinson’s team who left with victory and Ratnapala’s side who left with regret.

The Mavericks have almost a full week to regroup before heading to Bath to take on another key team in the tussle for top four.

Internationals

Jamie George, Maro Itoje, Nick Isiekwe and Elliot Daly were all involved in England’s final Six Nations match of the campaign against France in Paris. Nick Tompkins also came off the bench for Wales against Italy, and now all of the internationals will return to North London as Sarries prepare for The Showdown this weekend.

MATCH REACTION | Lewis Sones (AC Rd 1)

Women’s Assistant Coach Lewis Sones felt that his side could take a lot of encouragement, despite an opening round cup defeat to Harlequins. A late surge from Saracens nearly secured the points in a topsy-turvy match, before they were forced to settle for two losing bonus points. Despite the result, Sones was pleased with how […]
