Weekend Round Up | Semi finals here we come!
Saracens Men got their fifth win on the bounce in the Premiership to book their place in the play-offs, whilst a whole host of Saracens Women shone once again on the international stage.Â
Saracens Men:Â
Mark McCall’s men confirmed their place in the Gallagher Premiership semi-finals after a sensational 38-22 win over Exeter Chiefs at StoneX Stadium.Â
They scored four tries and despite trailing at half time, they registered their fifth consecutive league victory to give themselves a spot in the last four.Â
Owen Farrell delivered a Player of the Match performance with 18 points from the tee, whilst Elliot Daly, Sean Maitland, Nick Tompkins and Ben Earl all crossed the line against the Chiefs.Â
The Men in Black head to Worcester Warriors on Saturday afternoon and will be eyeing up another win as they look to hunt down a home semi-final.Â
Saracens Women:Â
There was no match for Alex Austerberry’s side at the weekend as the Allianz Cup drew to a close, and they are next in action on Saturday 7th May against Exeter.Â
They still had plenty of involvement in the TikTok Six Nations however as the players kept up their impressive performances on the international stage.Â
Marlie Packer was Player of the Match in England’s 69-0 win over Ireland in Leicester. Hannah Botterman scored on her return to action, Poppy Cleall crossed twice, and Zoe Harrison and Holly Aitchison were also involved for the Red Roses.Â
Jodie Rettie was on the bench for Scotland in their narrow defeat to Italy, whilst Donna Rose came on for Wales in their loss to France.Â
The Six Nations draws to a close this weekend, with a mouthwatering decider between France and England on Saturday.Â
Saracens Mavericks:
The Mavericks also had a rest after a busy start to their Vitality Super League campaign. They return this weekend with a match against Team Bath on Friday evening, and they will be looking to build on their win over Severn Stars in Birmingham.
