Saracens v Exeter Chiefs

Saracens can confirm that Marco Riccioni will depart the club at the end of the season.

The Italian international has made over 60 appearances for the Original Club of North London during four years at the club, playing a key role in the squad and contributing to the Premiership title win in 2023.

Reflecting on his time at StoneX Stadium, Riccioni expressed his gratitude for the opportunities and experiences he has enjoyed in a Saracens shirt.

“Five years ago, I arrived at the Saracens not knowing how much this place would shape me. Now, as this chapter comes to an end at the conclusion of the season, it’s hard to put into words what this club has meant to me.

This hasn’t been easy. It took time, reflection, and honest conversations with my family and my close ones.

But sometimes growth means listening to where life is taking you. Saracens has played a huge role in my journey, helping me grow not only as a rugby player, but as a man. From day one, I felt trusted, supported and constantly pushed to be better.

I want to thank the club for believing in me five years ago, the staff for the work and dedication they bring every single day, and my teammates for everything we’ve shared together — the battles, the laughter, the tough moments and the memories that will stay with me forever.

And to the supporters: thank you for always being there, week in and week out, for the love you’ve shown me and for making this place feel like home. I will never forget you.

New challenges are ahead, but my focus is completely here. I’ll give everything I have for this shirt until the very last minute.”

Director of Rugby Mark McCall also paid tribute to the prop, thanking him for his commitment and contribution to the club during his time in North London.

“Marco is a brilliant person and someone who everyone at the club has enormous respect for.

His impact here both on and off the pitch has been fantastic and we wish him every success in his next chapter”
