STATS PACK | Premiership Final
Here are some key numbers for you ahead of the showpiece at Twickenham on Saturday!
This is Saracens eighth Gallagher Premiership Rugby final appearance, winning on five previous occasions (2011, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019).
Sarries only defeat in their last nine matches in Premiership Rugby was 7-54 at Gloucester in round 26. The Londoners have won on their last eight visits to Twickenham Stadium (all in Premiership Rugby) since losing there 20-24 after extra time to Northampton Saints in the 2014 final.
Saracens only loss in their last six encounters with the Tigers was 12-13 at Mattioli Woods Welford Road on 2 October. The two clubs have met twice before at Twickenham, the Premiership Rugby finals in 2010 and 2011, with each side winning once.
Leicester and Saracens have met in one other final – the 2003 Zurich Wildcard final at Franklin’s Gardens, with Tigers winning 27-20 after extra time.
This is Leicester Tigers tenth Gallagher Premiership Rugby final appearance, but their first since 2013, they have won four of those encounters.
Saracens are one of only four clubs to have beaten the Tigers in Premiership Rugby this campaign – the others were Wasps, Sale and Harlequins. Leicester have lost just one of their last five matches at Twickenham Stadium in Premiership Rugby, 21-27 to Bath in “The Clash” in April 2017.
Tigers have won only one of their last four finals at Twickenham in all tournaments – against Northampton in the 2013 Premiership Rugby final.
