Record breaking TV Audience of 1.5 million watch Saracens v Harlequins
Saturday’s Saracens v Harlequins match set a new TV record with more than 1.5 million people tuning into the game across ITV and BT Sport.
A combined peak audience of 1.516 million supporters ensured that the London derby was the most-watched match in the history of Premiership Rugby – beating the 2022 Final record by 200,000.
The Gallagher Premiership Rugby match, which saw league leaders Saracens overcome their capital rivals in a thrilling contest, also drew a peak TV audience exceeding the 1.048 million that saw Harlequins face Bristol Bears in December.
The Saracens v Harlequins match:
• On ITV and BT Sport had a combined peak audience of 1.516 million (1.33 million on ITV and 186,000 on BT Sport).
• Secured a significant 7.1% share of all UK TV viewers during the match.
• More than 55,000 supporters were in attendance at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
