Amelia MacDougall named Sports Performer of Year at the AOC awards
Saracens Women's Pathway star Amelia MacDougall was recently awarded with the Association of Colleges Sports Performer of the Year award, after a superb season on and off the field.
Outside back MacDougall has been a key cog in the Saracens Women's Pathway and Centre of Excellence sides this season and has also trained with the senior side throughout the campaign. She also represented England U18s earlier this year.
Speaking after being honoured with the award, MacDougall paid tribute to her teammates and the coaches who have helped her get to this point.
“I am so grateful to have received this award and this has been a great way to end my U18s career. Thank you to the Saracens Pathway and Oaklands College, my squad and all the coaches involved.”
Niamh McHugh, Women's U18 Pathway Lead Coach, was also thrilled to see MacDougall's performances honoured.
“It is fantastic to see Amelia being recognised for all of the hard work and dedication she has put into developing her game over the past two years at the Academy. To have received Sports Performer of the Year showcases not only her capabilities on the pitch, in achieving domestic as well as international honours, but also off the pitch through being a role model for fellow players within the Academy.”
