Marco1

Saracens is pleased to confirm that Marco Riccioni has signed a new contract to stay at the club for another two years.

The Italian, who was included in the BT Sport Gallagher Premiership Dream Team for this season, has been one of the outstanding players in the league since bursting on to the scene in North London.

Riccioni missed the majority of the 2021/22 campaign with a long-term knee injury, but has come back in fine form with a string of impressive displays alongside the likes of Mako Vunipola and Jamie George in the front-row.

The 25-year-old, who has 21 caps for Italy will be looking to make his mark in the World Cup later this year after being named in their squad, and will also be hoping to sign off this season with the Gallagher Premiership trophy on Saturday.

Riccioni is excited to have put pen to paper for a new deal.

“I’m so grateful for the opportunity to continue my journey with this family! This environment has always put me in a place where I can express the best version of myself and I can’t wait to see what this group can do in the future.”

Director of Rugby Mark McCall is delighted that the prop is staying at StoneX.

“Marco has had an outstanding season and at 25 years old has an incredible future ahead of him.

We are delighted that he has chosen to continue his journey with the club.”
