Saracens Mavericks Announce Fixture at OVO Arena Wembley

23.10.23
Wembley

Saracens Mavericks are delighted to launch our first-ever fixture at OVO Arena Wembley, as we take on Manchester Thunder on 7 April.

For the first time, a Netball Super League match is being played at the iconic London venue, with a heavyweight clash between Saracens Mavericks and last season’s semi-finalists Manchester Thunder.

It promises to be a day filled with non-stop entertainment both on and off the court, with plenty of pre-match entertainment, as we celebrate all that is good about the NSL and Saracens Mavericks.

As well as the NSL fixture, which starts at 4pm, we will also be welcome finalists from our Road to Wembley tournament, to play on the court ahead of the match!

OVO Arena Wembley is one of the most iconic venues in the world, with the likes of Prince, The Beatles, Tina Turner and Madonna having played the arena.

Plenty of others have also played the arena, from the worlds of comedy and sport, with Ricky Gervais and Lee Evans both having entertained crowds down the years.

Now though, it’s the turn of Saracens Mavericks to play the role of the great entertainers on 7 April.

Speaking about her side’s first ever fixture at the arena, Head Coach Camilla Buchanan was confident that it will be a superb event for all who attend.

“For me, this is what our sport is all about. We want to raise it to the next level and play in these big arenas. This is a real first for us to be able to play OVO Arena Wembley and to be playing at one of the best and most iconic venues in the world is really special. It’s going to be amazing to bring the sport to a wider audience and for our fanbase to experience a day at a venue like this.

More information on the event can be found here, with Saracens Mavericks Seasonal Members able to choose their seats as part of their Seasonal Membership from 23 October, with General Sale starting at 10am on Monday 30 October.
