Saracens is thrilled to reveal that Theo McFarland has committed his future to the club.

The 26-year-old has taken English rugby by storm since arriving in the summer, and he is already a regular in the Sarries pack with eight appearances so far this season.

The Samoan scored his first Premiership try against Gloucester last weekend and also scored twice against Harlequins in the Premiership Cup.

The second-rower, who can also operate as a flanker has had a fascinating journey to professional rugby as he has also represented his country in several international basketball competitions, proving his considerable aerial and athletic ability.

McFarland has two caps for Samoa, both victories over Tonga, and before arriving in London he had a spell with the Dallas Jackals in America.

He is excited to have signed a new deal at StoneX.

“I'm delighted to have re-signed with Saracens. I feel it's the perfect club for me to develop as a player whilst also providing me with the opportunity to showcase my talents and challenge for trophies.

The club have made me feel extremely welcome from day one and it's just a great environment and a great group of people to be a part of.”

Director of Rugby Mark McCall believes McFarland has a great future ahead of him.

“Theo has made a fantastic start to his Saracens career. Whilst he has great natural ability and is physically gifted, his most impressive attribute has been his appetite to learn and improve his game.

We are confident that Theo has a bright future and we are thrilled he has committed to the club.”
